31 January 2024: Trilegal represented Naspers Ventures B.V. (Naspers Ventures) in securing an unconditional approval from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) in relation to the proposed follow-on investment in API Holdings Limited (API). The CCI approved the transaction on 30 January 2024.
Trilegal represented Naspers Ventures on the Indian competition law aspects of the transaction and filed a merger notification with the CCI. Trilegal demonstrated that the proposed transaction would not cause any appreciable adverse effect on competition in India in any of the relevant markets.
Naspers Ventures, incorporated in Netherlands, is an investment holding company indirectly owned by Naspers Limited. Naspers Limited is a global consumer internet company and one of the leading technology investors and operators in the world. API is engaged in various activities in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sector in India and owns the ‘Pharmeasy’ platform.
